Vegan Yentafo @ Yaowarat (Chinatown, Thailand) : Rice noodles in Red broth

Soooo good to be eating nooodle souppp :3 In Thailand the serving sizes are tiny around half maybe even a third of what you get if you buy a meal in Australia so I ended up eating two bowls.

Thai Sweet: Khanom Tarn (ขนมตาล) Toddy Palm Cupcakes

I was surprised that this was vegan and didn’t contain any eggs! The yellow colour comes from palm fruit :)

Thai Street Food/Snack: Khanom Krok (ขนมครก) - Thai coconut rice pancakes
Raad Na (Gravy Mixed Vegetables Noodles) @ Local Restaurant in Suphanburi - Bai ngern
Felt so gooodd to eat noooodles I missed eating noodles

Most people in Thailand don’t cook their own food but buy it from restaurants and markets as it’s less time consuming and cheap. Luckily in the place I’m staying at (Suphanburi) there is a vegan restaurant my aunt frequently buy our meals from. Here’s one of my favourite:

A Thai twist on the Vietnamese Fresh Rolls: Rice noodle parcels filled with soy protein and salad (lettuce + cucumber + basil) served with a chilli pineapple sauce and loads of basil

Thailand takeaway: A traditional dish eaten with rice
Vegan fish namprik (a spicy sauce made from pounded ingredients seasoned with lemon juice, sugar, salt, soysauce) with raw eggplant, cucumber, ginger, chinese cabbage sort of vegetable

This was the first meal I had when I landed in Thailand @ MK Restaurant (A Thai ‘Suki’ hotpot chain) in a Tesco Lotus chain somewhere in Bangkok - Thankgoodness for the vegan option!

Vegan Suki hotpot bowl: glass noodles + silk tofu + baby corn + glass noodles + chinese cabbage + asian greens

Served with Red Fermented Soybean based Sauce + Vegetable Jade Noodles topped with garlic

Raad Nah - Thai style gravy noodle with mixed vegetables!
Shiitake mushroom + enoki mushroom + capsicum + carrot + broccolli + cauliflower + Chinese broccolli + Green beans + tofu
Pad Kra Pow - Thai chilli, garlic and basil tofu with enoki, fresh shiitake and king oyster mushroom.

Mushroom Pad see eiw topped with crispy tofu.

Pad Kee Mao or ‘Drunken noodles’
In other words Thai chilli, garlic and basil fried rice noodles with tofu
‘Dry’ yellow noodles with chinese brocolli and crispy tofu. Topped with dried chilli, sugar, white pepper, coriander, green onions, crushed peanuts, fried garlic and pickled cabbage.
Tofu Pad Thai.
This was pretty much my first time cooking it. I used fresh noodles however. I wasn’t particularly pleased but my parents enjoyed it so I guess it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was.

Vegan “Hor Mok” Thai curry custard (vegan ‘fish’ and cabbage) topped with coconut cream and herbs (coriander, kaffir lime leave, chilli slices).

Thai style Sweet and Sour Tofu topped with crispy onion.
